OPENING CEREMONIES: Commander Verville called the meeting to order at 1000 hours, 8 APR. Opening ceremonies were held according to VFW Ritual. Twenty Five Post 11447 members were present.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: The Roll Call was taken by Adjutant Burnett. Twelve Officers were present.

MINUTES: Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The Adjutant said that a copy of the minutes were posted on the bulletin board and sent to members via email, also posted on our websites. There was one change to the minutes, Dave Niemela was listed as a nomination for Chaplain, it should have been Dan Wilson. Change made to file copy of the minutes. The Adjutant made the motion to accept the minutes as changed and posted, seconded by Comrade Corbin, motion carried.
QUARTERMASTER REPORT: Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report and made the motion to accept the report as audited. Seconded by JVC Best, motion carried. The report is on file, see the QM if you would like to see the entire report.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT: QM Burnett gave the report. This report has been updated since the meeting.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: NTR
POST HOUSE/BUILDING COMMITTEE: PHC Members voted approval on a motion to increase the Canteen Manager’s Change Fund by P20,000. Utilities rates and food/drinks costs have increased during the past 6 months. A motion was approved for the Canteen to use students in an OJT program and hire a part time employee if necessary. Motions to be brought up for approval at the GM Meeting. Also, the PHC approved a motion for the Post to purchase a new freezer.
HOSPITAL/HOME VISITS BY POST MEMBERS: CDR Verville gave the report for MAR visits. 66 members made 56 visits to see 125 vets, spent 172 hours in visits, traveled 1504 miles and gave $8.82 in gifts. Total credited for MAR was $4001.48.
BUDDY POPPY CHAIRMAN: Buddy Poppy donations were P1870 ($92).
VFW NATIONAL HOME FOR CHILDREN: Commander asked the Chaplain to say a prayer for our National Home for Children.
A freezer and chiller that were approved for purchase at last month’s meeting have been purchased within price limits set. Freezer was purchased for P9000 and the chiller for P21700.
The PHC at its meeting voted to bring a motion to the members for a new freezer and chiller. The motion to purchase a new freezer, not to exceed P25k was made by Comrade Best and seconded by Comrade Yu. Motion carried. SVC made the motion for the Post to purchase a new Chiller, price not to exceed P22k seconded by the QM. Motion carried.

Jerry Rowe was nominated for Judge Advocate but withdrew in favor of Frank Hilliard. As no positions were contested, a motion was made and seconded for the Adjutant to cast one unanimous vote for each position. New Officers were Installed by Past District Cdr Dennis Doty.
Motion was made by JVC Best for the Post to use students as part time employees/OJT also to hire a part time employee when needed. Motion seconded by SVC Moran. Motion carried.
To improve communication between the Canteen Manager and the employees, an employee is needed to ensure that orders/requests from the Canteen Manager to the employees get carried out. This was discussed with the PHC, who gave their approval. Employee Jessica Fuertes was considered the best employee to fill the position. Her position will be to ensure that daily tasks are carried out, inventories are completed, cleanliness is maintained and requests from the Canteen Manager are carried out. If approved by the membership her pay will be increased by P10 per hour. Motion was made and seconded by the JVC. Motion approved.

Comrade Larry Gray has volunteered to help with ship visits and try to recruit new members.
Comrade Bob McGrew said that his wife who is a pharmacist may be able to get medicines cheaper then local drug stores. Contact him for additional information.

Charter which was draped in memory of Post members “Chico” Miranda and Richard Davis last month was undraped and draped in memory of Jay Hammond.
Fifty/fifty: 50/50 was won by Comrade Hilliard who donated his share (P2025) to the Relief Fund. A total of P4050 was collected. Thank you Frank.

CLOSING CEREMONIES: Closing Ceremonies were held according to Ritual and the meeting was adjourned at 1113 hours (Commander bought a round because meeting went over 1 hour). The next GMM will be held 13 May at 1000 hours at the Post Home.
