Canteen Fund shows being in the red. This is normal for this time of the year as Business Permits, taxes and other items relating to renewing permits are paid.
SERVICE OFFICER REPORT: Comrade Verville talked about our military appearance during funerals compared to VFW Post 2485. Post 2485 (operates the Clark Veterans Cemetery) has uniforms for its burial detail and performs it services flawlessly, some members notice this and compared us with them. Post 2485 does as many as 10 burials (or more) per quarter vice our 2-3. Our burial detail wears the barong or VFW shirts, VFW hat and long pants (preferably dark gray or black). While 2485 ceremonies are impressive (they practice weekly and have matching uniforms for all members) they are more visible to the public than we are. Our Post has been told by many families that they appreciate our services and were not that concern about appearance but performance. We have never received a serious negative response by relatives, even when we have some problems, like bugle malfunctions. It would be nice if we had matching uniforms, but our detail is all volunteers and at times we use a member to fill a vacancy who does not have a barong or hat and has never did a service before. Comrade Verville said that all families appreciate our services as we perform them.
SURGEON'S REPORT: The Dental Outreach will be held in Brgy San Isidro, Subic., Aug/Sep timeframe.

Comrade Simms has medical problems and been in and out of the hospital, currently at home resting. (Note: Comrade Simms is filling much better now and has visited the Post several times since the meeting).
