OPENING CEREMONIES: Commander Rogers called the meeting to order at 1005 hours, 11 JAN 2017. Opening ceremonies were held according to VFW Ritual. Seventeen 11447 members were present.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: The Roll Call was taken by Adjutant Burnett. Nine Officers were present, 2 were absent (one excused).
NEW RECRUITS: The Commander asked if there were any new recruits. Adjutant said there were 4 recruits. Recruits are Roland B. Bati, Afghanistan veteran; James M Wilcox, Vietnam Service; Albert R. Oppenheimer, VN, Desert Shield/Storm; and Greg L. Terry, Korean Duty, Expeditionary Ops. All were found to be eligible by the Review Committee and Comrade Burnett made a motion that all four recruits be approved as new members of Post 11447. Motion seconded by Comrade Correll. Motion carried. Welcome aboard recruits.
MINUTES: Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The Adjutant said that the minutes were posted and placed on the website. No changes were made. Motion was made by the Adjutant to approve the minutes as posted. Seconded by Comrade Correll. Motion approved.
DISTINGUISHED GUESTS: "Marine" Steve, David Metherell, and Scout Master Terry White were permitted to speak about VFW Post 11447 sponsoring a Boy Scout Troop in the Olongapo/Subic area.
QUARTERMASTER REPORT: Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report and made the motion to accept the report as audited. Seconded by Comrade Niemela, motion carried.
SERVICE OFFICER REPORT: NTR
SURGEON'S REPORT: The Dental Outreach will be held in Brgy San Isidro, Subic., Aug/Sep timeframe. Some items and medicines from the last outreach will be available for use. These medications that were not previously used still have a useable shelf life.
COMRADE OR FAMILY MEMBER IN DISTRESS: Comrade Don Randolph was buried in Subic. The VFW/FRA held a joint burial service. There was a large turnout for the ceremony. Comrade Robert McGlew is in Clark Medical Center with back problems. Comrade Mike Best still resting at home. Ed Spears, not well also resting at home.
PUP TENT 11: The Hungry Cootie reported that they had a LOUSY SCRATCH. The minutes are posted.

POST HOUSE/BUILDING COMMITTEE: Comrade Rowe said that the Post will have a Superbowl party on 6 Feb.
HOSPITAL/HOME VISITS BY POST MEMBERS: Chairman gave the report for DEC visits. 38 members visited 64 veterans, spent 115 hours in visits and travel, travelled 1304 miles, provided $37 in gifts. Total for DEC $2824.21.
BUDDY POPPY CHAIRMAN: Buddy Poppy donations were P950 ($19.39)
VFW NATIONAL HOME FOR CHILDREN: Commander asked the Chaplain to say a prayer for our National Home for Children.

Golf tournament on 1 Feb at Baguio Country Club, sponsored by POST 124. DISTRICT 7 meeting on 2 Feb at Baguio Country Club. 8 Feb is the Barrio Beach Bash Golf Tournament at San Miguel. 10-12 Feb will be the Beach Bash, Barrio Barretto, Post 11447.
DPA Convention 10-12 June at Subic Grand Harbour Hotel. The Subic Grand Harbour Hotel needs 40 days advanced bookings and the Lizel Hotel will be used as a back up.
Beach Bash venue has been changed to Barretto Beach Resort and Dive In Bar which borders the Arizona Beach Resort property on the right. Hats and shirts will be ordered.

CLOSING CEREMONIES: Closing Ceremonies were held according to Ritual and the meeting was adjourned at 10:50. The Charter remained draped for departed Comrade Paul Griffin and Earl “Sully” Sullivan. The next GMM will be held 8 Feb at 1000 hours at the Post Home.
