New Business

Serve Officer Mike Verville explained the situation of Mrs. Edna Flores for assistance from the VFW to help bury her husband, a USN veteran. She had the money for the burial, but it was in her purse a few days before the burial while at the funeral parlor, where someone stole it. The RAO contacted the VFW and said that they would ensure the loan is repaid when she gets reimbursed for hospital expenses. The loan was for P25, 000 ($500). Comrade Verville made the motion for the post to approve the loan, seconded by Comrade Houle, motion carried. QM Burnett made up a promissory note for her to sign and a payment voucher. Members of the Post held a service for her husband the same day.

Delegates for the Post were approved by the members for the DPA Convention to be held in Thailand this June. Delegates approved are Mike Verville, Frank Hilliard, Jim Rogers and Douglas “Chief” Sorensen.
