VFW Post 11447: Minutes of September 2018 Meeting
OPENING CEREMONIES: The Commander called the meeting to order at 1000 hours, 10 OCT 2018. Opening ceremonies were held according to VFW Ritual. Twenty two members were present.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: Roll call was taken of officers; elleven Officers were present, two absent, both excused.
NEW RECRUITS: The Commander asked if there were any new recruits. The Adjutant reported seven new recruits.

All seven are qualify for membership in out post. Adj made the motion for all 7 members to be approved fro membership, seconded by Dave Niemela. Motion approved.
MINUTES: Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The minutes were posted and emailed to members. No changes were made. Motion was made for the minutes to be approved as posted and seconded by Comrade Corbin. Motion approved.
DISTINGUISHED GUESTS: None. However the Commander recognized members who are senior officers at some of our local organizations: Chris Schrauben, Commander AL Post 4; Lee Vatter, President FRA 367; Dhan Wilson, Seam Squirrel (Commander) MOC Puptent 11.
QUARTERMASTER REPORT: Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
The QM gave his report, which was audited by the Trustees prior to the meeting. The QM made the motion for the report to be approved as presented and audited. Seconded by Comrade Wilson.
SERVICE OFFICER REPORT: NTR
SURGEON'S REPORT: Still looking for a Barangay or town for the Dental Outreach to be held.
COMRADE OR FAMILY MEMBER IN DISTRESS: Comrades Greg Langhan and Ed Spears resting at home. Walter Smith undergoing Chemotherapy for Cancer in the states. Veteran Jerry Hoover is in Bay Point Hospital for pneumonia and heart problems (Note: He died during the evening of 17 Oct from a stroke and other complications).
PUP TENT 11: Had another Lousy Scratch.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Students are in school. A child can be sponsor by a member for P1000 a year, this will help pay for their annual trip and school supplies. A Christmas present sign up list will be posted on the VFW Bulletin Board
WEBSITE: Updates ongoing.
POST HOUSE/BUILDING COMMITTEE: A tarp was put over the front door and a layer of cement over the rocks. Aircon in front area has been reinstalled.
HOSPITAL/HOME VISITS BY POST MEMBERS: Chairman gave the report for SEP visits. 34 VFW members made 6 visits, saw 6 Vets, (3 burials, 1 home visits, and 2 hosp visit), spent 285 hours in visits/travels, and travel 1921 miles. Total: $2893.64.
BUDDY POPPY CHAIRMAN: Buddy Poppy donations were P1010x ($19.06).
Commander asked the Chaplain to say a prayer for our National Home for Children.
VFW NATIONAL HOME FOR CHILDREN: None
For The Good Of The Order
The Silver (P2500) and Gold (P5000) wall plates are still on sale.
The 50/50 was P4600, P2300 to Larry Gray and P2300 to the Post.
Charter was undraped
Member Bob Briggs turned over several ols U.S. Flags to the Adjutant for proper disposal. The flags will be given to the FRA during their next flag burning ceremony. Bob also donated a new flag to the VFW. Thank You Bob.
Beach Bash 2019. The BB will be held at the Midnite Rambler in Brgy Baretto in Feb. The following members/guests will host the special events: Golf Chairman-James "JIMBO" Correll; Darts-Billy; BB shirts-Jerry Rowe; Beauty Contest-Dave Fisher.
CLOSING CEREMONIES: Closing Ceremonies were held according to Ritual and the meeting was adjourned at 10:45. The next GMM will be held 14 NOV 2018 at 1000 hours.
