Scratch held on 1 NOV 2018 at VFW 11447 Post Home

Scratch was called to order at 1407. There were 8 Pup Tent11 Cooties at the Scratch.

Opening ceremonies IAW MOC Rituals.

Roll call was held: 6 Shavetails were in attendance.

SS asked if there were any new member applications:HC said no application.

SS asked if there was Degree Work to be completed:No degree work.

SS asked if the minutes from the last Scratch had been posted: Hungry Cootie said that the Minutes for the OCT Scratch were posted at the Post home. No changes have been received. Motion to accept minutes as posted seconded by Cootie #30, Cootie #85 made the motion. No discussion. Motion carried

SS asked for report of the Hungry Cootie: NTR

SS asked for reading of official and other communications: No communications

SS asked if there was a Cootie or family of a Cootie in distress:Cootie 81 has medical problems, Cootie #68 doing better.

SS asked for the report of the CCDB:Report was given in detail. Cootie # 87 seconded a motion to accept the report as presented. Motion made by Cootie #85. Motion carried. Cash and Bank total was $1271.37, cash in the General Fund $220.62 and in the Hospital Fund $1050.75 as of 1 NOV 2018.


Membership:As of 1 NOV we have 14 Life and 15 Annuals for a total of 29 active Coots. Annual 2018 dues can be paid if you haven’t done so already, see the CCDB. Dues are $35.00 or Peso equivalent if paying in pesos (was P1855, on 1 NOV). To date only 2 Cooties, #88 and #62, have paid current dues.

National Home Prayer: Delivered by the Sky Pilot.

Hospital Chairman Report: Chairman gave the report for OCT visits, 19 VFW members made 16 visits, saw 12 Vets, (3 home visit, and 6 hosp visit), spent 56 hours in visits and travel 364 miles. Total: $1413.76

New Business

The PT Seam Squirrel said that DPA is requesting financial assistance from Posts and Pup Tents (GRAND Commander request) to help recovery for members and Posts in the Saipan/Guam area following a disastrous typhoon. The members voted on $100 donation from the PT and the following Cooties also donated funds, Cootie 61 P1000, Cootie 20 P1000, Cootie 88 P2000, Cootie 87 P1000, Cootie 85 P925 (his 50/50 winnings), and Cootie 62 P1000. Total P6925 ($130). Combined total is $230.

Good of the Scratch:

Beach Bash is schedule to be held 8,9 and 10 Feb at Midnite Rambler in Barretto. The motto for the event is “FREEDOM IS NOT FREE”. Details will be announced at each Scratch until the event is held. Beach Bash info will be put online.

50/50 Winner Cootie #85, total was P1850, P925 to the winner. P925 to PT. Cootie #85 donated his share to the disaster relief fund (see new business above).

Buddy Poppies: P420 ($7.92)

Cootie #84 (Dhan Wilson) has ordered the special Cootie shirts. They will be made in Korea need to pay in dollars, not pesos as dollars will be sent to pay for them. Payment must be done at the next Scratch in DEC or earlier if you see him.

Cootie #61 (SS) said that he would personally bring back the GREAT BLUE LOUSE to PT15.

Dist 7 Councilman Tom (Turkey) Aldrich said that GRAND SS would be present at our next Scratch and PT15’s. PT 15 changed their next Scratch date to 6 Dec and will hold a dual Scratch on that date at Post 2485 at 1400. SS made that motion to approve a dual Scratch at Post 2485 and seconded by Cootie #62. Motion was approved.

Closing of the Scratch was done IAW Ritual.

Scratch closed at 1503. Next Scratch will be held at 1400, 6 DEC at Post 2485.
