Minutes of Meeting October 2017

Scratch held on 5 OCT 2017 at VFW 11447 Post Home

Scratch was called to order at 1407. There were 12 Pup Tent11 Cooties at the Scratch.

Opening ceremonies were IAW MOC Rituals.

Roll call was held: 8 Shavetails were in attendance.

Seam Squirrel asked if there were any new member applications:HC said no application.

Seam Squirrel asked if there was Degree Work to be completed:No Degree Work

Seam Squirrel asked if the minutes from the last Scratch had been posted:Hungry Cootie said that the Minutes for the SEP Scratch were posted at the Post home and emailed to members. No changes have been received. Motion to accept the minutes as posted seconded by Cootie #79, Cootie # 62 made the motion. No discussion. Motion carried

Seam Squirrel asked if there was a Cootie or Family Member of a Cootie in distress:Cootie #68 still at home he has been in contact with the HC by telephone requesting various items and information. NOTE: Cootie No. 65 died on 13 Oct. He has been cremated and waiting for decision about where to bury or what to do with the ashes of Mike.

Seam Squirrel asked for the report of the CCDB:Report was given in detail. Cootie # 62 seconded a motion to accept the report as presented. Motion made by Cootie # 61. Motion carried. Cash and Bank total was $1472.85, cash in the General Fund $347.12 and in the Hospital Fund $1125.73 as of 1 OCT 2017.


Hospital Chairman Report: Chairman gave the report for SEP visits. 33 members made 32 visits, saw 38 patients and 2 departed vets at burial ceremonies, spent 93 hours in visit/ceremonies, gifts/expenses $37.24 and travel 776 miles. Total: $2243.

Membership: As of 1 OCT we have 16 Life and 15 Annuals for a total of 31 active Coots.

National Home Prayer: Delivered by the Sky Pilot.

New Business

At the Sep meeting a motion to spend P2500 for using the bus being rented by FRA Post 367 for the Chili Cook-off was tabled awaiting further info. The motion was taken off the table and P2500 was approved by the Cooties for donation to the FRA to help with the rental cost.

Good of the Scratch:

-Still looking for VFW members to join the Cootie Swarm.

- All Cooties should become National Home and Paddy Daddy life members. You can find info in the ROF and Typhoon. Also a RED STAR Life Member ($100 plus LM dues if a annual member). Any questions see the Seam Squirrel or CCDB..

- District 7 meeting 10 Nov at VFW Post 2485 post home.

-50/50 Winner Cootie # 87, total was P1750, P875 was donated to the PT by the winner..

- Fines collected: P1110. Buddy Poppies: P470

Closing of the Scratch was done IAW Ritual.

Scratch closed at 15:00. Next Scratch will be held at 1400, 2 NOV at the Post home (subject to change).
