OPENING CEREMONIES: Commander Verville called the meeting to order at 1000 hours, 9 Sep. Opening ceremonies were held according to VFW Ritual. Nineteen Post 11447 members were present.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: The Roll Call was taken by Adjutant Burnett. Nine Officers were present, 3 absent (2 excused).
NEW RECRUITS: Three new recruits. Adjutant read the application and made a motion for the members to approve the applications of Emilio D. Quinto (Vietnam Veteran and Desert Storm/Shield); Manuel P. Felipe (Desert Shield/Storm Veteran) and Kenneth R. Holmes (Vietnam Veteran and other foreign service), seconded by Comrade Best. Motion carried. Welcome aboard Comrades.

MINUTES: Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The Adjutant said that a copy of the minutes were posted on the bulletin board and sent to members via email, also posted on our websites. There were no changes to the minutes. The Adjutant made the motion to accept the minutes as posted, seconded by Comrade Best, motion carried.
QUARTERMASTER REPORT: QM Burnett presented the report and made the motion to accept the report as presented. Seconded by Comrade Best, motion carried. The report is on file, see the QM if you would like to see the entire report.
SERVICE OFFICER REPORT: The Post held a memorial service for departed Comrade Gillis (see Aug minutes) on 21 Aug and a burial service for Mark Umprey at Clark Cemetery was held on 13 Aug. VA Outreach was held on 20 Aug, followed by a Survivor Seminar given by Commander Verville. Comrade Corbin said that TRICARE Claims can be filled at Bay Point Hospital.
SURGEON'S REPORT: Dental Outreach was held on 6 Sep at the Barangay hall in Barretto. Eight VFW members assisted or showed up. Had 4 dentist and one doctor, who worked from 8am-1pm. The Dentist helped 123 patients and the doctor saw 33 for a total of 156. A total of 143 teeth were pulled. The dentists and helpers ate a late lunch at the VFW.
COMRADE OR FAMILY MEMBER IN DISTRESS: Comrade Alvarez’s wife is in the hospital, she has cancer and is not doing well, reported at the meeting. George Marshall still having back problems.
Note: Anna passed away on 22 Sep after being taken off life support systems. Post members George Laughlin and John T. Brady joined the Supreme Commander. George was cremated and will be buried in Leyte. John Brady was buried 24 Sep at Clark Cemetery with 19 Post Members and other guests present, including FRA, American Legion and VFW Post 2485 members.
PUP TENT 11: Seam Squirrel reported that they had a LOUSY Scratch. He said that Alaska Bob would like to see visitors at his home.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT: QM Burnett gave the report. This report has been updated since the meeting.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: NTR
POST HOUSE/BUILDING COMMITTEE: NTR
HOSPITAL/HOME VISITS BY POST MEMBERS: CDR gave the report for AUG visits. 45 members made 39 visits to see 82 vets, spent 182 hours in visits, traveled 2144 miles and gave $350 in gifts. Total credited for AUG was $4763.
BUDDY POPPY CHAIRMAN: Buddy Poppy donations were P790 ($18).
VFW NATIONAL HOME FOR CHILDREN: Commander asked the Chaplain to say a prayer for our National Home for Children.
Need a Chairman for the Beach Bash. If interested contact the Commander.
Rich Moran resigned as SVC. Need a new SVC, nominations will be opened at next meeting.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
Building Fund Blocks Project is still open for purchase. P2500 for Silver Block and P5000 for Gold. See the Commander or QM if you would like to purchase a block.
NFL football flags still on sale. Many are available. 75% will go to the team that wins the Superbowl, 25% to the Canteen.
Comrade Hilliard said that the Canteen looks very good.
American Legion and FRA Commanders said that business is slow and ask for support of the members to stop by for a drink and comradeship.
POW/MIA Day American Legion, 18 SEP. The VFW and FRA attended and participated at the event, there was a very good turnout.
Commander said that the Sunshine Cart is still going on, but he did miss the last two weeks because he was involved in moving to a new house on SBMA.
TV-DVD player donated by Dave Inman and Jerry Williams donated an AFN box. Thank you.
Fifty/fifty: The 50/50 was P3200; Comrade James Harold won and donated his share to the VFW and FRA. Thank you James.

CLOSING CEREMONIES: The Charter was draped in memory of George Laughlin. It will remain draped for 30 days. Closing Ceremonies were held according to Ritual and the meeting was adjourned at 1045. The next GMM will be held 14 OCT at 1000 hours at the Post Home.
